Creating a lasting impact in our communities
SANNE Foundation is proud to announce the launch of San’Rise its learning centre for sustainability leadership in Mauritius.
The name San’Rise reflects SANNE’s philosophy and commitment to be a responsible and impactful corporate citizen. The vision for the centre is to empower woman and youth in the Beau-Bassin community with encouragement, education and life skills training.
"San’Rise is committed to providing sustainable solutions to social problems stemming from poverty. By offering the community training, skills and trades, we offer them knowledge to evoke change. The same knowledge to take control and change their lives, and to help others do the same" said Peggy Soobiah, Director in SANNE’s Mauritius business.
SANNE together with local NGOs, trainers and policy makers are working to leverage the centre to facilitate workshops and training programmes that are aligned to the community’s needs.
The centre was officially inaugurated by Couldip Basanta Lala, founder of SANNE’s business in Mauritius.
“In Mauritius, we do not take lightly our responsibilities as a good corporate citizen, not only towards society but also in the execution of fair business management. Significant changes are taking place in the environments that surround our industry. Whether locally or globally, it is our duty to respect diversity of cultures, customs, and viewpoints, and to play a role in the development of society through our collective business activities and CSR initiatives like the launch of San’Angels and San’Rise” – Rama Sithanen, Chairman of CSR Committee, Chairman and Director of SANNE’s Mauritius business.
