Priya Khare, Head of Learning & Organisational Development spearheads SANNE’s Learning Strategy and works to keep it current and relevant to changing market requirements.

SANNE adopts a three pillar strategy to training, carefully considering the needs of an employee right from the time they join the business. Under the foundational pillar SANNE seeks to ensure staff are introduced to the operational and business culture through standardised induction sessions. Those who meet the requirements for the next pillar - professional development - have the opportunity to study towards an industry recognised qualification in line with business needs. Post graduation and completion, SANNE then looks at integrating specific management and leadership development initiatives like mentoring, coaching and honing leadership skills based on the individual’s need; so they can go on to build a successful career within SANNE’s global business.

Since 2004 SANNE’s Learning and Development Programme has seen more than 200 SANNE employees acquire their ACCA, ICSA, ICAEW, STEP, SAIPA and MBA qualifications. SANNE also sponsors CIPD Certification for HR professionals, a PRINCE 2 Certification for project management, and an international qualification in Enterprise Risk Management for staff within its risk, compliance and governance functions. 

So what of the Programme’s success? Is it producing the next generation of innovative leaders?

Simply put, Yes. SANNE see a high percentage of participants achieve excellent results in their studies. This is attributed to two things; the nurtured approach SANNE takes which allows new entrants to be buddied up with other students in the scheme. The second is the active mentoring our business leaders offer to those in the programme, since many of our business and team leaders themselves started as SANNE trainees. This collegiate approach sees top results, often with SANNE people being at the top of the Channel Islands, UK and Asia-Pacific rankings list of exam scores achieved.
